Quote from Hyperactive :
GT5 is easier to drive but it also acts a bit weird at bigger slides. It feels like the inertias are totally wrong or something because the cars get into that strange pendulum mode and it feels like the whole car is rotating around some axis like in ridge racer or something.

I "think" (touch wood) this is because of the gamepad and the fact the game was really designed for the G25. My friend had a G27 hooked up and I never had that pendulum effect when driving, as the inputs were 1:1, rather than 500:1 with an added auto-steer affect.

Quote :In gt5 there is less going back and forth than in forza. For example changing parts in the car is a lot quicker in gt5 because it is in the setup options that is also available when you have entered a race. So for example in forza if you accidentally enter a race in totally overpowered car you can not fix until you have finished that race. In gt5 you just go the garage and change the parts you want.

That's true, about not having to go back quite as much. But don't you agree the Forza menus are a bit quicker? And also, when you buy a part in Forza it is fitted automatically. Having to press x 3 times to buy and fit a part on GT5 gets annoying.

Yes I bloody want it fitted or I wouldn't have bought it.

Since it was already guessed correctly, Erik, does it really matter that I couldn't have gotten it right?
I await more modern cars which appear when I am not out/at work.

Quote from E.Reiljans :That means just one thing - your motherboard is very, very good. On most motherboards, they show different temperatures.

Show the same for me.

3 people have now said that their stock intel coolers are more than up to the job and yet you are maintaining they are rubbish.

In other words, shut yurrr face.

I have better things to do. (I have a life)

Besides I am not interested in cars from the war era's so I have no shame in saying that.

So what? I've never seen higher than 55 and that was about 3 weeks ago, when I was photoshopping while watching Youtube (at least that's what I call xvideos) and it hit 54.

Stock cooler with a load of dust as I found about a week ago when I put a new HDD. Dusteh dusteh. Since then I've not installed SpeedFan or similar on my new OS :sadbanana

Quote from E.Reiljans :You obviously have never used Intel's stock coolers. Those manage to get CPU past thermal limit even without any overclock.

Works great on my Q6600....after playing Crysis for 3 hours my CPU is 51 degrees...

Nothing that new. About 3 years ago I saw 8Ghz before. They basically poured liquid hydrogen onto the motherboard at this time.

From a single core too if I remember.

Was playing this for the easy-bigbuck challenges and while it's still a nice game to play, I couldn't sit there for hours like I could with Forza 3.

The UI just isn't as nice. Some customization features which are present in Forza 3 are not even thought of in GT5. As a game for car enthusiasts (as in, the type of people to polish their 1958 Mustang all day), GT5 is probably the game for you. The graphics are nicer, at least on the "premium" cars and the dashboards are fairly good.

Forza though is very close on the graphics front but hey.

Quote from jibber :When i still had the 944 i met a swiss S2000 on a german autobahn with no traffic... we were next to each other and gave it full throttle from around 100km/h... he could keep up next to me up to 200km/h then started falling back. This is with stock cars by the way... 90% of 944 turbos are chipped and have about 290hp and 400nm at 3'800rpm.

Explains why the Porsche won in that scenario!

A very appropriate picture. Nice to see my vacation to have the forum so it can be "without children for a while" has resulted in an equally-as-child-infested forum as before.

I missed it.

Quote from jibber :My 944 turbo was built in 1990 (developed in 1988), the first S2000 was out in 1999. Thats roughly ten years, not 15. Also, the 944 is a porsche... everybody knows how fast cars they can build (handling wise)... 944's also have a perfect weight balance of 50/50 (S2000 achieves this almost, but not as perfect). In other words... 944's were way ahead of their times (handling wise). And for the record, a 944 turbo is not slower than an S2000... 250 turbo hp and 300nm of torque will win all day, even if the S2000 is a little bit lighter.

You're talking out of your arse again Jamie... which never ends well.

The 944 Turbo S (according to the figures I can find) does 0-60 in 5.6 seconds which is exactly 0.1 seconds quicker than the S2000. In that case it will be down purely to the driver. The 944 Turbo S does the standing 1/4 in 13.9 seconds, exactly 0.1 seconds slower than the S2000 (US Spec, slower than JDM/Euro). - times from here

In gear roll ons will be to the Porches strength but then that's not what the VTEC unit is designed for. Quote weight distributions all you like, there is more than weight distribution to a cars handling ability. Porsche 911, for example?

No doubt the 944 Turbo is a good car, still quite quick and perfectly able; but I have to say I think that a S2000 is a better, faster car and probably quicker around a track. And unfortunately unless we can find a test where is an S2000 and a 944 Turbo racing around a track, in the same conditions, with the same drivers, same tyres, it would be best for the sake of avoiding an internet debate if we just agree to disagree.

You can see some more info here

Quote from jibber : but on fast corneres, i think a 944 will outrun an S2000.

Quoted for LOL. S2000 is 15 years ahead of the 944 which is no lighter, slower and less sophisticated.

YZF-125s are good little bikes. Quick for a 125 4T and will actually be reliable unlike the 2T Aprillias, etc.

Just get one that's not been crashed.
